Training Your Dog to Sit

Training your dog to "sit" is probably the first thing you will train your puppy to do. I write puppy because you can start the training as soon as the puppy has settled in his new home. You might think this isn't that important, a dog knows how to sit. Well, I think it is very important. Read on and you will found out why and how to train your dog to sit.

1. This first one is easy. You just start by saying "sit" every time the puppy sits itself. He learns to associate the word sit with the action. This is a tip you can use in all training.

2. Take out his favorite treat and keep it in your hand. Sausage usually works well but remember to cut it in small pieces so the puppy can swallow it fast.

3. Sit down on the floor so you get to the same level as the dog. You are less threatening when you sit. More important is that you are close to the dog so you can reward him faster. More about this soon.

4. Slowly move the treat over your puppy's head. The intention is to get the puppy to smell the treat (he will) and follow it with his nose. He has two options. Either back still standing or sit down. It's easier to sit down.

5 Immediately as he sits you say "sit" and give him the piece of sausage. This is the key factor to all training. The reward has to be exact in the same moment as the dog does the right thing.

6. Praise the dog. Show your joy with your voice as well as with your body language.

7. Repeat these steps 3-5 times. Not more than that though, as it has to be fun! On the other hand you can repeat the steps several times during the day.

8. In the next step you should try these steps while standing up. You can try to see if the dog reacts only to the word "sit" without your hand and the treat. If he sits down you obviously should praise him and if he doesn't don't care. You should never show your disappointment to your dog when you are training.

This is pretty easy for the puppy. In a day or two you will get him to sit with your "sit" command. Now you can try to make him sit down beside you. This is actually a preparation for the heel training. There you want him to sit as soon as you stop walking. If you have thoughts about obedience competitions with your dog you should consider the exact position where he sits and also how fast he sits. That is however off topic in this article.

The next level is to strengthen the word so you get the dog to sit in every situation no matter what's going on around him. This is an ongoing process and you should never stop training. Use every new situation to train him. Make him sit with new people, new dogs and new surroundings.

It's quite easy to train your dog to sit. If you consider not training your dog my advice is, think again. When you start training with your new puppy you get much more than the sitting part The puppy loves to do things with you. He learns to listen to his name. He gets used to training and doing things with you and on your initiative. This all together strengthen your position as the leader, and the puppy feels secure. When the puppy falls asleep in the evening his last thoughts should be: "This is really a great pack!"

Mobile Commerce Wireless Payment Processing

Mobile Commerce Wireless Payment Processing

m-commerce - The Basics

Mobile Commerce (m-commerce) isn't a new way of processing credit and debit cards. The acceptance method has been around for a few years, but is just really starting to make a large impact on how we do business away from our offices.

m-commerce first started with the use of wireless POS (Point Of Sale) swipe terminals and has since then made its way into cellular phones and PDA's (Personal Digital Assistants). Wireless POS swipe terminals are much more expensive (usually around $700 and up) then regular "wired" terminals which require you to be nearby a phone jack and electrical outlet in order to operate. As a result, this has caused many people to find alternative ways to process transactions while their "on the road" -- at least until now.

Cellular phones and PDA's have largely grown in popularity and as a result manufacture's have made significant improvements and added features to attract even more consumers and meet current owners demands. One of those features is wireless transaction processing. Imagine being able to process credit card and debit card transactions wirelessly within seconds at tradeshows, business seminars, house calls, etc. Wireless Processing Benefits

Before m-commerce solutions became available collecting funds for orders done "on the road" required people to either pay by cash, check or write down their credit card information so you could process the transaction later back at your office. The fact is, cash and checks can get lost and credit card information, if not put in a secure place, can get into the wrong hands between the time the information was taken down and the customers card was charged. m-commerce solutions have taken a lot of the hassles out of doing business "on the run."

* Improved cash flow * Secure credit and debit card authorizations within a matter of seconds * Reduced instances of credit card fraud and chargebacks * Ability to conduct business where phone line connections don't exist

m-commerce Resources

1. Cell Phone Wireless Credit Card Processing Wireless processing via your cell phone is probably one of more cost effective ways to process cards on the road. Not only does a service like this work with cell phones, but also any phone for that matter. Thompson Merchant Services offers a very appealing wireless processing package for just $39 to setup. I would highly recommend it, click here for mobile credit card processing.

2. Virtual Terminal - If you have a laptop (notebook) computer that's able to connect to the Internet while you're mobile (on-site, at a hotel, etc.) then you can process credit card orders securely over any Internet web browser. Since you cannot swipe the clients credit card the processing fees are slightly higher, however you don't incur the high costs of purchasing a wireless swipe terminal which ranges approx. $700+. If interested, contact any Merchant Service Provider for details and pricing. Virtual Terminal is almost always coupled with the purchase of a Real-Time Internet processing solution. If you already have a Real-Time solution check with your Merchant Account Provider on how to process orders via your Virtual web-based terminal. The Virtual Terminal solution is nice since there's no software to install and no long-term leases to be bound to. Typical price ranges from around $50 and up, however there may be no additional cost if purchased along with a real-time processing solution.

3. IVR Terminals, also referred to as Interactive Voice Response Terminals are a relatively new method of being able to process credit cards, check cards (debit cards with Visa or MasterCard logo on them), and checks (ACH - Automatic Check Handling) via any touch-tone or wireless cell phone. IVR Terminals help to greatly reduce chargebacks and fraudulent orders.

4. AirCharge offers solutions for both Cell phones and PDA devices. Their PDA wireless processing solutions can be hooked to a card reader so you can obtain the lowest rates possible for your face-to-face transactions. They have several solutions available for both PDA's and Cell phones.

5. BlackBerry 2-Way Pager with magnetic card reader. Wirelessly process credit and debit cards on the go and ensure you get the lowest processing rates possible by using a magnetic card reader attachment for the pager. Rapidly decreases the chances of fraud and chargebacks. NextDayFunding and ePayWireless are two companies that offer solutions for the BlackBerry pager.

6. Wireless, portable POS swipe terminal ($700 and up). If you'd rather just invest money in a wireless POS swipe terminal you can inquire with any Merchant Account Provider and they can meet your wireless terminal needs. There are wireless swipe terminals available that have embedded printers and those that don't. In general, you can expect to pay a lot for these terminals, and even more for those that have their own printer embedded within the unit itself. source

Lose Weight NOW! - Do or Die Time!

Some of you will not like what I have to say, even though it is the truth. And that may be where the problem of American's health problems lies. No one wants to give you the truth. My responsibility as a high profile fitness expert lies not in if you like me, or even if you buy my e books. My responsibility lies in giving you straight talk with no sugar coating it.

You want quick fixes to your health problem that has taken years to develop. You get it by purchasing gimmicks that promise you fast results. You fall for it, and at the end of the day you are more frustrated than every. Why? Because you are denying the root of your problems.

I have counseled thousands of people over my twenty year tender as a personal trainer, health club consultant and best selling author. And in all my travels, the answers to people's problems with weight come down to one thing: it's a matter of choice!

My approach with people is, either you pay a price now or you will pay a bigger price down the road. I am really tired of dancing around and trying to pat people on the back and say, 'It's OK you can do it.' When all the while, most I know are in the least bit serious about their health, and have no idea what they are in for down the road.

If you are on the fence of whether or not to start an exercise and weight loss plan, I suggest you either become hot or cold. None of this luke warm stuff. You, America is on the verge of a health crisis. The longer you wait the more of chance you have of having a disease.

You also have a matter of choice on all these gimmicks out there. Don't waste your money on products that are not long lasting and do not teach you anything. I know you want fast results but you will just waste your money. Let me remind you, until you deal with your approach to weight loss the other is pie in the sky. Here are the keys to weight loss:

Determine HOW you are motivated

Determine the REASONS behind the unwanted behaviors.

Develop a great support system

Eat for fuel not for taste

Keep being active.

Here is a portion of one of my e books at www.resolutions.bz I didn't have much time to pack my bags that day; matter of fact, I'm still wearing the same clothes I put on that morning.

I met all three of them on the way up here. They said they would hitch a ride, but they were not sure they would be welcome where I was going.

I thought it was unusual to learn how much they knew about me. Did I meet them at some restaurant my family and I went to? Did I see them at the doctor's office? I know, maybe it was at a bunko party or the golf course? I just couldn't put my finger on how I knew them until today.

It's pretty nice here though'peaceful, always something to do, good conversation. However, I sure miss my family. I wish I didn't have to leave them soon, but how would I have known?

The three of them said they warned me time and time again. How? When? Where? I wondered. I thought I read all the right books and talked to the right people. I even participated at times.

Lazy was probably the one I got along with the best during that short time we spent together. He was the only transparent one of the three. Others might have thought if they saw us together we were twins. We were so much alike.

The other two were much more reserved and timid. Don't let those guys fool you. I learned quickly they were stubborn old boys with rough edges'two of the biggest know-it-alls I had ever met. They called themselves Denial and Pride. And if you ever met them, I think you would agree they were named correctly.

As I crossed the line, I will never forget what they said to me as we raised our hands to each other and waved goodbye, 'If only you had known.'

DON'T LET THIS BE YOU! START TODAY! LET ME HELP YOU!

If people get discount in any product then it becomes easy for them to purchase a large amount of products. In order, to pursue this purpose, you can even see the people locating the sale on different products. These sales can be on any product such as clothings, shoes, electronics etc.

You have to locate the shop to get the rebate offline. But, on the contrary you can do this on WWW, just by searching your desired product on a search engine.
There are several websites and portals which provide this facility. Several famous portals sell the products in some low rates. This process on one hand is very beneficial and on the other hand you an easily save your most precious time too. Apart from these portals, many retailers owning their websites also give some rebates if you purchase the products from their websites. Moreover, most of these sites and portals provide easy way of payment. Payments can be made through credit or debit card or you can even send them cheque or demand draft in some of the cases.
Several portals allow the users also to sale their products. This feature really help the other users. For instance, many times, some users get some material which are no more for use for them. But, that is in good condition. This is very obvious, that that material can not be purchased in its original price. So the user sells it in a discounted price. This is one of the good aspects of discount shopping online.
Several portals allow the users to discuss about the product with other users. This is a very helpful feature which can benefit the customers. This feature allows you to know about the product. It even helps in understanding whether the seller is giving the product in the right price only. It has been often witnessed, that the sellers provide the products in original prices by saying it discounted one. But, the mutual discussion among buyers make them aware about the original prices of the product. This reduces the chances of getting lured. There is another way of discount shopping online and that is bidding. Many portals have the feature to bid. In those you can bid the products on your own prices. The highest bidder gets the product. But many time these products can be bought at low prices also, if there is no higher bidder.
Apart from all this, most of the sites provide attractive services, like if you purchase more then one goods then you are entitled to get a handsome discount. So, if your requirement is more, then this can prove to be a good choice for you. This service can be availed more easily in a planned way too. This will help you and your friends to get the desired product at very cheap rates.
Conclusively, discount shopping online is one of the best ways to buy the goods in lower prices. This is an easier and reliable way as compared to the process of typical shopping.

Selecting a Good Watch

With so many manufacturers, styles, and places to buy watches, the process of shopping for a watch can be overwhelming. Luckily, the variety of styles, price points, and types of watches available make it possible to find a watch to suit each person's individual needs. Besides the choice of a men's or women's watch, factors you may want to consider when shopping for a timepiece include style, price, and type of mechanism.

Beyond the designation of men's, women's and kids' watches, timepieces can be categorized by the type of movement, metal or leather bands, and by style. Today most watches have highly accurate quartz movement, but classic mechanical workings can still be found, especially in luxury models.

Price Point is the first decision you need to make when you start shopping. Quality quartz watches are available from the $30 to $40 dollar fashion price point, and luxury timepieces can be as expensive as an $80,000 diamond encrusted Rolex. For a cute trendy fashion watch, check out the TOCS watches from tocswatches.com. Their Glitz model, at $65, was featured on Oprah's O List for 2008. Another TOCS model that really stands out is the Ani-Digi Solar Alarm Chrono model. This watch is solar (or indoor light) powered and also has a lifetime battery backup. On the luxury side of watch shopping, the Titanium Men's Tissot T-Touch is an example of a sporty styled luxury watch. We priced the Tissot T-Touch Classic Touch Screen Watch at $595.00 eWatches.com. This is great status watch, with a sporty and technical style.

Rolex Daytona Oyster Perpetual models retail around $11,000 dollars for basic models and are the most classic example of the watch as status item. When you are wearing a Rolex, everyone will know the quality. They keep their value forever. Vintage Rolexes remain highly collectible.

After deciding price point, the next thing to consider is the style. Both men's and women's watches come in an array of styles from sporty to elegant. Jewelery styled watches are perfect for an elegant evening look, or you may prefer the sport look of a divers watch. There are also technical models with digital displays and advanced features. Looking for something with a geek charm reminiscent of the 1980's? Try a Casio calculator watch. Amazon.com sells models ranging from under $20 up to $75.00.

One of the most important decisions you will make when watch shopping is the type of mechanism. One man we know requires a self winding watch with no battery. He literally cannot keep a battery running in a watch for more than a few months before they burn out. For this gentleman the solution was a Citizen Eco Drive. Citizen is one of the most popular watch manufacturer in the world. The gentleman described above wears a Citizen Eco-Drive WR-100 with a titanium bracelet. A similar watch is available from Amazon.com for $255.00.

Keep your watch shopping fun by trying on different models at a retailer in your area. If you are having a difficult time deciding on the perfect watch for you, remember that there is no reason you have to settle for only one. You may like to have a special watch for evening wear, and an everyday watch for work. Fashion watches are available in all sorts of colors and styles. With all of the lovely choices available who could fault the watch shopper for ending up with a watch to match each outfit and event.

Buying books online - isn't Amazon the best value?

Everybody wants good value when they buy books online - especially expensive ones. And everyone knows that people like Amazon have transformed book buying to provide everyone with better value than bookshops and other booksellers.

Don't they? Haven't they?

Not exactly. I am telling you because I should know. I too am a trader. I get the same prices, presumably, as Amazon from the publishing houses. They may even get a bigger discount from me becuase they buy in bulk for their thousands of customers. So how can I charge less than me?

Is it because they add apostage charge of around £3 to all orders under around £39? Most paperback books are around £6.99. If you look at Amazon's description of the book it may say "Our price £5.59. You save 20%". You are then invited to "buy now".

So you are saving £1.40 on the price you would pay in a bookshop but then paying £3 postage. That makes the price £1.60 MORE than the bookshop price. That's the smallest village bookshop you can find, remember. Are you really going to order £39 worth of books at once? Can your credit card stand it?

But are Amazon making a loss by offering you a 20% discount in the first place? Not on your life. They often get 35% discount. So they paid around £4.50 a book they are then asking you to pay £5.59. How many people buying a popular book does it take for them to cover their costs and make a profit even if they DIDN'T charge you £3 postage.

But they do charge you that. So its not even a question of making a small profit or loss on each sale and hoping selling to lots of people gets them a discount on their postage bill - which it usually does.

So how much should you pay? Well, we would make a profit on that £6.99 book with 35% discount to us from the publisher by charging you £5.75 INCLUDING POSTAGE.

So, please. Don't think you're not paying shop prices rather than discount prices. And I mean corner shop inflated prices, not Wal Mart sell it cheap prices.

We welcome any enquiries if oyu want more facts on the subject. Email us at books_and_beyond@businessmailbox.com.

Evaluate Shopping Cart Features

Before purchasing a shopping cart software there are many different features you must evaluate and decide on. There are certain considerations you need to keep in mind to ensure you buy the right shopping cart software. For example, you will want to consider who your customer base will be and the amount of traffic you are likely to receive. Also, you will want to come up with a list of products you want to sell in addition to how many future products you might want to add to your product line. The following considerations are also important to evaluate when shopping for a shopping cart for your website.
Price
The price of the shopping cart software is important, especially if you are not working with a lot of funds to begin with. There are many different shopping carts in various price points. For example, you may find one that is hosted from a remote server and this can cost as much as $100 a month or as little as $20 a month. The features you select will affect the price significantly. Some web hosts offer their customers a shopping cart system. For these plans the hosting may only cost an additional fee, but the fee will vary widely based on what's accepted. Your website and its needs will determine how much money you need to spend on your shopping cart. If you need a lot of control and the ability to customize your shopping cart then the best option is to install one on your very own server.
Setup
Before buying a shopping cart you should also look into the ease of setup. Nobody wants to spend hours and hours struggling to get the shopping cart just right. There are lots of different shopping carts out there that are actually quite easy to install and use so look for one of these. You may find that Amazon's shopping cart is seamless and easy to use, however there are other types of carts that also have easy setup. Do your homework and find the shopping cart that meets your needs and that is easy to use.
Storage
The storage of your shopping cart is also quite important. The capacity that your shopping cart has is important to consider because you want a cart that will be able to handle all of your current needs as well as any future needs your ecommerce site might have.

6 Foods To Avoid

If you're looking to improve your diet then cutting back on these six foods is a good starting point.

1. Fizzy Drinks

The average can of fizzy drink contains around 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, artificial food colouring and sulphites. Diet versions of fizzy drinks contain artificial sweeteners which are even more unhealthy. Fizzy drink are so bad for you that the Centre for Science in the Public Interest, a US consumer group has called for cigarette style health warnings to be printed on soft drink cans.

2. Chips and French fries.

They may be tasty but chips and French fries contain acrylamide, a known carcinogen and neurotoxin that forms when foods are baked or fried at high temperatures. In tests conducted on some well known brands of French fries the level of acrylamide found was around 300 times the amount allowed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in a glass of water.

And it gets worse - chips and French fries also contain trans fats, the artery-clogging fat that's been linked to raising cholesterol and increasing the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer.

3. Doughnuts.

If you break a doughnut down you'll find nothing more than refined sugar and flour, artificial flavours and partially hydrogenated oil that's packed full of trans fats. They have no redeeming qualities at all.

4. Cakes and Baked Goods.

This category also includes biscuits. This is another group of foods that almost always contain high amounts of trans fats and a host of other unhealthy additives such as corn syrup, preservatives and artificial flavours and colouring. In fact, baked goods usually contain more trans fats than any other food because not only are they made with hydrogenated oils, they're also fried in them.

If you must eat baked goods then buy them from your local bakery because they're less likely to used hydrogenated oils or margarine to preserve the shelf life.

5. Processed Meats/Hot Dogs.

Processed meats like spam, luncheon meat and pepperoni contain a carcinogenic ingredient called sodium nitrite which, according to nutritionists, has no place in human food.

According to a study carried out in America on 200,000 people over seven years, the people who consumed the most processed meat showed a 65% increased risk of pancreatic cancer.

6. Canned Soup.

Amazingly we are talking about the traditional, canned soups you find in the supermarket. This may come as a surprise, but most canned soups have high levels of trans fats, sodium and artificial preservatives like MSG.

Just a single cup of soup from a can, can contain up to 1000 milligrams of salt. That's an awful lot considering dietary guidelines recommend no more than 2400 milligrams per day.

Reading the above it's obvious to see why the government is keen to educate children and parents about the poor nutritional values of certain foods. Until recently children were regularly eating chips, cakes and processed meats and fizzy drinks as part of their daily school dinners. Thankfully high profile campaigns such as Jamie Oliver's drive for healthy school meals has alerted people to the dangers of consuming these foods on a regular basis, and seems to be making a significant difference.
